The Science department at Trinity School are highly experienced with a passion to deliver practical activities to enhance the learning and outcomes of students.  We currently employ seven Science teachers and have eight fully resourced new laboratories built to high specification, which are all on the same floor.

There are currently six science classes in each year group in Key Stages 3 and 4, with one A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics class in Year 12 and Year 13.  Students have six one-hour science lessons per fortnight in Year 7 and Year 8.  In Year 9, students have three one-hour lessons in each of the three Science subjects per fortnight.  Likewise in Year 10 and Year 11, with the addition of a tenth revision lesson.  Students taking A Level science courses have nine hours of contact time each fortnight.

The successful candidate will be an individual who ideally has experience in coordinating the use and maintenance of practical science resources and facilities as well as providing assistance and advice in meeting the practical needs of the science curriculum.

You will be responsible for preparing resources, chemicals and other materials for class practicals, carrying out maintenance checks, arranging for repairs as necessary, coordinating and organising the inventory of equipment and stock control and undertaking stock checks.  Candidates need to be adept at liaising with equipment providers to ensure good quality provision, as well as academic staff to discuss timetables, equipment requirements and work plans.

Previous experience in a Science Technician role in a school environment is desirable but not essential.  A positive attitude and calm manner with the ability to organise, prioritise and deal with a demanding workload is vital.  You will be an excellent communicator and have a professional approach.  Candidates will be a confident and competent user of ICT (Word, Excel and Email).  There will be opportunities to attend CPDs such as attending technician meetings/conferences to enhance skills and share good practice.

We are a Christian school through and through and are very keen to uphold this important and foundational element at Trinity.  You do not have to be a practising Christian to join us but must be sympathetic to our Christian values.

We highly recommend you come and visit us to experience what others so readily affirm that Trinity is truly a unique place, with a calm and caring atmosphere.

We are recruiting as applicants apply therefore an appointment may be made before the close date.

Our school and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.  The successful applicant will be subject to a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure and checks regarding proof of ID, medical clearance and the right to work in the UK.
