We are looking for a flexible, highly effective and efficient Careers Adviser to support our Careers Team.
About the Careers Team
The Trinity Careers Team is made up of a Careers Lead (L6 guidance qualified) and a part-time Careers Assistant. The Careers Lead is responsible for the strategic planning, development & delivery of the Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme including Year 10 work experience, as well as the delivery of one-to-one and small group guidance sessions with students across years 10-13. Our Careers Assistant gives administrative support across the programme and supports students with finding information and making applications.
CEIAG at Trinity School is very much a whole school approach with careers embedded in our Lifebites PSHE programme delivered by form tutors/subject teachers and complimented by our termly Careers Weeks which involve all teaching staff in making links between their curriculum and careers.
About You
Core responsibilities will focus on supporting the development of students by providing careers information, advice and guidance. The successful candidate will be required to work with local FE establishments, training providers and universities to access up-to-date and relevant careers information, assist in the planning and delivery of the careers programme and provide impartial careers guidance to students. In addition, you will be required to actively engage with parents attending post 16 future events, assist students with activities such as work experience, workplace visits, interview techniques and class-based sessions.
Previous experience of delivering CEIAG in a secondary education setting is essential and applicants must demonstrate a good knowledge of safeguarding requirements for working with children and a good understanding of the Gatsby benchmarks. The ideal candidate will hold a degree level qualification and a post-graduate qualification in Careers Guidance (or be working towards it).
We use the UNIFROG online careers platform across the whole school as a resource to support careers and the work experience programme in year 10 and 12 so previous experience would be desirable (or experience of a similar platform – Morrisby, Xello etc.) but not essential as training can be given.
