Our teacher training sets you on the path to becoming an excellent teacher. One who will inspire the next generation to succeed.

We have partnered with Teach Kent & Sussex to offer an 11-month intensive teacher training programme, where you can be placed at our school.

Here are five reasons why you should join our teaching training programme:

  • Train in one school: You’ll do most of your training one school, which could be Trinity School. This gives you immediate opportunities to put the theory you’ve learned into practice in a classroom, supported by expert teachers.
  • Be guided by a fully trained mentor: To ensure you’re supported throughout your training; we match you with an experienced teacher who will guide you every step of the way.
  • Benefit from blended learning: You’ll get the high-quality academic training you'd expect to get from a university combined with immersive, classroom learning.
  • Become a qualified teacher. After successfully completing the programme, you’ll achieve qualified teacher status (QTS), and a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) enabling you to start your career in teaching right away.
  • Earn a decent salary. Teachers earn a starting salary of at least £31,000, with head teachers earning upwards of £120,000 in some schools. Teachers are also entitled to a substantial pension and generous holidays.

About the Business Department

Business is a hugely popular subject at Trinity School.  Over half of our students pick the subject at GCSE and it has been consistently popular in the sixth form.  Many of our students intend to run their own businesses as adults and business at university is consistently popular.

At Key Stage 4 we teach the Edexcel GCSE course.  At Key Stage 5 we teach both AQA A level Business, CTEC Business and Edexcel Economics B. There are two A level classes and one CTEC class in each of year 12 and 13.

About You

You will be committed to the development and progress of students, able to facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and you will be the sort of person who enjoys a collaborative team working style, relishes a challenge and is resilient.  We are interested in hearing from candidates who are either newly qualified or have 2 – 3 years’ experience of teaching Business and must be able to teach to A level.  It is an advantage to be able to teach Economics, but this isn’t essential.

How to apply

We are a Christian school through and through and are very keen to uphold this important and foundational element at Trinity.  You do not have to be a Christian to join us but be sympathetic to our Christian values.

We highly recommend you come and visit us to experience what others so readily affirm that Trinity is truly a unique place, with a calm and caring atmosphere.

About the Science Department

The science department at Trinity School is a strongly balanced team composed of experienced members alongside educators who have found the profession more recently. All staff are valued, contribute to ongoing developments within the department, and showcase their passion for science through excellent teaching and delivery of practical activities to enhance the learning and outcomes of students.

We currently employ nine science teachers alongside three science technicians, delivering lessons in eight new fully resourced laboratories built to high specification, all of which are situated on the same floor. In Year 7 and Year 8, science is taught under a collective umbrella, which splits into Biology, Chemistry and Physics from Year 9 onwards. At GCSE, students study the AQA specification, with the majority of students entered for Combined Science, whilst a healthy number of students opt to study all three Single Sciences as one of their option choices.

In each year group in Key Stages 3 and 4, there are six or seven classes, with one A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics class in Year 12 and Year 13. Students have six one-hour science lessons per fortnight in Year 7 and Year 8.  In Year 9, 10, and 11, students have a total of eight science lessons per fortnight. Students who have opted to take Single Science have an additional five lessons per fortnight. Students taking A Level science courses have nine hours of contact time each fortnight in Year 12 and ten hours of contact time in Year 13. Class sizes for A Level science usually range between 8 to 20 students.

You will be committed to the development and progress of students, able to facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and you will be the sort of person who enjoys a collaborative team working style, relishes a challenge and is resilient.  We are interested in hearing from candidates who are either newly qualified or have 2 – 3 years’ experience of teaching Chemistry or Physics and have experience of teaching Chemistry or Physics to KS5.  Please advise of your specialism on your application form.
