Inspire cocurricular

Our Year 7, Year 8 and Year 12 co‑curricular programmes sit at the heart of our personal development provision. Carefully formulated and thoughtfully organised, these experiences are designed to nurture, inspire and challenge students as they grow academically, socially and personally. Our approach is grounded in building exceptional relationships and fostering a genuinely caring community. This commitment to individualised care ensures that every student is known, supported and guided on their own unique journey. The programme takes place on Wednesdays Period 5 allowing equity and inclusion for all students.

Students can choose from a wide range of activities led by our talented staff, including First Aid, Japanese Club, Jamming in a Band, School Production and Coding Club. Year 12 students have opportunities to lead these activities as part of their service programme, as well as to take part in options such as volunteering in a primary school, preparing to drive, cookery club, Pilates, the Scholars Programme or Young Enterprise, to name just a few. The co‑curricular year is structured into four nine‑week cycles, giving students the chance to develop new skills, make friends across year groups and demonstrate persistence. Students submit three preferences each cycle, which are then used to allocate places fairly and effectively.

Many students tell us this is the highlight of their week, and we are always keen to listen to student voice to introduce new and exciting opportunities.

In addition, our extra-curricular programme takes place after school with a range of sports, music and drama activities.
