Lloyd's of London Trip

On Thursday 24th April six of our Sixth Form students were kindly invited to a tour of the Lloyd’s of London building by Liam Jones CEO of Mosaic Insurance for a day to remember.

The students enjoyed a lunch with Liam and his Junior Analyst Sam, it was a great opportunity to ask questions about their work and deepen their understanding of the insurance world. It also allowed them to seek advice on what they should be doing to make themselves appealing candidates in the future.

Afterwards, the students were booked in for a tour of the Lloyd’s building. Our tour guide Tim was previously an insurance broker at Lloyd's for 50 years, he provided many exciting stories as well as the fascinating history around Lloyd's. The students were shown some of the highlights of the building - The Lutine Bell, The Loss Book, the reconstructed Adam Room and some of Admiral Lord Nelson’s collection. During the tour the students began to understand the size and impact of Lloyd’s on businesses and communities all over the world. The experience left the students thinking about insurance on a different scale to when they started.

We were all very grateful for the opportunity.
