Sixth Form

We are delighted to be opening our new Sixth Form in September 2018, with the capacity to accommodate 190 students.

The official Sixth Form Open Evening will take place on Tuesday 17th October 2017 from 5.00pm – 8.00pm.

Students at Trinity will need to submit their application form by the end of November 2017, after which time we will be offering places to external candidates. Trinity students will have priority subject to them handing in their application by the deadline but we will also welcome applications from external candidates.

We will be offering a range of subjects, which includes nine facilitating subjects.  This is a group of subjects that are frequently required for entry to degree courses, typically courses that run at Russell Group universities. In addition, we have a range subjects that are also academic and some with a creative learning.

The list of subjects is as follows:

  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • English
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Geography
  • History
  • RE
  • Art
  • Art (photography)
  • Business Studies
  • Drama
  • Film Studies
  • Product Design
  • Sociology
  • Textiles
  • BTEC Drama
  • BTEC Sport

Sixth Form students will select three or four subjects from the above to study in year 12, and we expect they will study three in year 13.

All Trinity Sixth Form students will also complete the Extended Project Qualification (for more information please watch this video clip) and it will be expected that students will immerse themselves in the leadership and service opportunities that will be available.

Our Sixth Form students will be encouraged to become confident, intellectually-curious, independent thinkers and life-long learners. Our tutorial system will help them to develop attitudes and skills that will help them make considered choices in their lives. The tutorial system will fully support students through the UCAS (university application) process to ensure the best possible outcomes for every individual.  They will also benefit from a bespoke careers advice programme to ensure that, whatever their future pathway, they are supported in achieving their goals.
