On Friday 24th March Trinity celebrated the official opening of our new school building.
It was an amazing day and we were pleased to welcome many special guests including the Bishop James of Rochester, the Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Fallon MP, members of the DfE, KCC and local council members, our school architect, Mr Tate, our governors and many parents as well as all our staff and students.
The day started with a lovely opening service in which Bishop James blessed the school and all who will use it. There were readings from students, Sir Michael Fallon and local ministers. We also had an amazing first performance from the newly formed Rock Gospel Choir.
There were prayers for both the recent sad events in Westminster and for the school.
We then had two important and symbolic events outside – a prayer balloon release and the planting of an olive tree, with prayers read by student council members.
The day continued with refreshments – and cakes for all the students provided by the governors – and many guests received a tour of the school from our prefects. The students were also treated to a fantastic performance and testimony from Rebirth Dance, a Christian dance company.
All staff and students received a commemorative key ring at the end of the day, and I am sure it is a day we will remember for a long time to come.
